Weekly Wrap Up: 2/1

As you wait for the first votes for Donald Trump for president to be counted in Iowa, distract yourself with a dose of the weekly wrap-up. Here’s the recent news from the Boston music scene I was able to dig up while avoiding all press coverage of Peyton Manning and his expansive forehead.

Bad Rabbits To Headline Eat Your Heart Out

In last week’s wrap-up we brought to your attention Eat Your Heart Out, a benefit concert and dinner at The Sinclair on February 28th that will raise money for Future Chefs and Girls Rock Out. Your lowly town crier incorrectly reported that Jesse Dee would perform. In fact, as of last week the feature act hadn’t been revealed.

But now it has, as the event confirmed that local rock and R&B group Bad Rabbits will headline. True to name, the band frenetically bounces around the stage like aggressive jack rabbits. Below Bad Rabbits perform at The Paradise on New Year’s Eve a year ago. Tickets for the show can be purchased here.

Manni Festo Releases New Music Video

In preparation for his new album Skeletones, Boston-based rapper Manni Festo struts his hometown streets of Montclair, NJ, shooting a music video for “Et Cetera” in classic young hip-hop style. Flanked by two of his compatriots, Manni Festo rolls out a jazz-tinged track as they wander the streets, swapping verses. In contrast to the intense artistry of his previous album, Abstract Islands, “Et Cetera” is a lyrically casual and playful track.
