Welcome to another week of Weekly Wrap-Up, where we fill you in on what’s been going on in the Boston music scene!
Last Monday, local group the Ross Livermore Band released their cover of Valerie exclusively with us lucky folk here at Sound of Boston. A lot of artists have covered this song, so the band had to live up to some pretty high expectations, but they successfully made it their own by putting a feel-good, groovy spin to the song. We were blown away with Ross’s soulful rendition of the song and his ability to hit every pitch in this live recording.
Following a similar trend of releasing songs on Youtube, Cambridge-native Friendly People recently revealed a live performance of their new song Hello Montana on their channel. The steady drums and catchy guitar riffs paired with the lead singer’s unique vocals truly captured the spirit of this indie-rock band.
Last but not least, we are proud to announce that Boston’s Magic Man and their hit song Paris  made it to Sirius XM Alt Nation’s  Alt 18 Countdown last week. They have come very far since their humble beginnings in 2009 and we are ecstatic to see this band garnering more success over the years. Currently, Magic Man is on tour and will be returning in May for the Boston Calling Music Festival . If you haven’t had a chance to check out their music yet, here’s a recent live recording they did with Firefly Music Festival’s Tree House Sessions:
