Welcome to our newest column, your Spark Notes for the local goings-on during the past week! This past weekend the 3rd annual New England Music Awards took place at the Lowell Memorial Auditorium to recognize and celebrate some of the best musicians around the area. We want to give a big shout out to past Local Spotlight artists for being nominated: Kingsley Flood for “Band of the Year” and their album Battles for “Album of the Year”, Gentlemen Hall for “Band of the Year” and their hit song Sail Into the Sun for “Song of the Year”, and Tall Heights for “Best in State: MA”. We’ve also been really digging local soul-synth duo GoldBloc’s new track Black Gold which dropped earlier this week – definitely a taste of new sound! In other news, we’d like to congratulate Natick-native Stacey Peasley for being featured in the Boston Globe this past week. The social studies teacher-turned-children’s-singer discovered her passion for music and explains why she has decided to dedicate herself to perform for kids. Recent Local Spotlight Artists include: • Anjimile • Chris Restaino • Friendly People Other Posts: • Review of past Local Spotlight act Miss Geo‘s show at TT the Bear’s • Selected Sounds: 5 Must See Shows in Boston – our bi-weekly list of recommended shows hand picked by our staff Share this:Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on Pinterest (Opens in new window)Click to share on Reddit (Opens in new window)Click to email this to a friend (Opens in new window) One Response Weekly Wrap-Up: 3/3/14 » Sound of Boston March 3, 2014 […] to another week of Weekly Wrap-Up, where we fill you in on what’s been going on in the Boston music […] Reply Leave a Reply Cancel ReplyYour email address will not be published.CommentName* Email* Website Notify me of follow-up comments by email.
