Weekly Wrap-Up: 3/31/14

Hey everyone, welcome to this week’s Weekly Wrap-Up!

In this week’s Alt-18 Countdown, Magic Man’s “Paris” finally climbed up to the #1 spot after being in the countdown for several weeks. We would like to congratulate Magic Man for making it this far and for their increasing success in the music industry!

Last week was also the week for new singles: local artists Calvin Lamothe, Tall Heights, and Michelle Lewis released brand new songs that are now available to stream. Singer-songwriter, Calvin Lamothe’s new track “She Took Your Breathe Away” highlights this 17-year-old’s  heartfelt voice and is complemented by a beautiful piano melody. His song is available for free download on SoundCloud. Indie-folk duo Tall Heights showcased their new song “The Quarry” with a live performance on Youtube. Previously featured in our Neighborhood Sessions, where they sang a great cover of REM’s Losing My Religion, Tall Heights impressed us again with their harmonies and gorgeous cello and acoustic guitar composition. Local folk artist Michelle Lewis’s moving track “Run, Run, Run” was written in honor of the Boston Marathon tragedy and all proceeds will be donated for the victims of the marathon. Check out her music video here and support the marathon runners by downloading her song on iTunes.
