Ticket Giveaway: Vundabar (3/3)

Boston’s beloved rock band—Vundabar—is playing The Sinclair on Saturday, March 3rd at 8 PM. The show is sold out, and we’re giving away two tickets!

You’re probably familiar with Vundabar—we’ve covered their music and featured them as a Local Spotlight in the past—but for those of you who have yet to be acquainted: Brandon Hagen and Drew McDonald started playing together in high school in a ska punk band. In their junior year the duo branched off and began playing and recording as Vundabar, a sound they describe as “sludgy, jangle pop.”

After extensive touring, Vundabar gained widespread attention in the national indie rock community. In an interview they did with us in 2013 they said: “We also toured for a month so I think that that has definitely like… like playing every night for a long time definitely gets you used to it and you learn a lot from it I think and you grow up a lot as a musician.” By 2017, they were playing Boston CallingTheir most recent album Smell Smoke, released on their own Gawk Records, deals with loss, grief, and instability and even includes a nod to Boston post-punk rockers Mission of Burma in “Tonight I’m Wearing Silk.”

This giveaway closes Thursday, March 1st at 10 PM, so get your submission in soon.
