Local rock/soul group Sunsrain is bringing a new Summer benefit show to Arlington’s historic Regent Theater this Thursday. Dubbed The Summer Soul Celebration, the show will feature various soul musicians from the Boston area including James Brown Jr., Earthbound Children, Nate Stringfield and Sunsrain themselves. The jam-packed lineup also promises to feature other guests throughout the evening.
This event isn’t one to be missed. With performances by Chicago’s Tony Wilson (dubbed the “young James Brown” by the man himself) who has a resume of touring with the likes of Bootsy Collins.
All proceeds from the event will be benefiting ASPCA, Arlington Eats, Boston’s Children’s Hospital, Mt. Auburn hospital, and Vet Tix. Music will begin at 6pm, but early attendees will be treated to food from about a dozen different local food trucks such as Roxy’s Grilled Cheese, Sal’s Pizza, Cookie Monstah, and Redbones.
