Alternative R&B singer-songwriter JMSN will be performing at Brighton Music Hall on Saturday, May 27th at 8:00 p.m. We have two tickets up for grabs for a lucky winner!
Christian Berishaj, born and raised in Detroit, has gone by many pseudonyms in his music career, from Snowhite in the band Love Arcade to Christian TV under the Universal Motown label. He finally settled on the moniker JMSN after leaving Universal Motown and starting his own independent record label, White Room Records. Since then, he has been featured singing backup on Kendrick Lamar’s Good Kid, M.A.A.D City.
JMSN first gained attention from major labels by playing DIY shows with Love Arcade. According to JMSN, then Snowhite, “We would find these abandoned businesses and we would do secret shows there, and there would be 400 people coming to these shows.”
Earlier this year, he wrote, recorded, and produced all of the music on his latest album, Whatever Makes U Happy. It is characterized by JMSN’s attraction to neo-soul music from the late 90s. Fans of BJ the Chicago Kid and Childish Gambino’s Awaken, My Love! won’t want to miss this show.
The giveaway closes Wednesday, May 24th at 10 p.m., so get your submissions in soon!
