Dreamy alt R&B singer-songwriter Empress Of (née Lorely Rodriguez) is playing Brighton Music Hall on Sunday, February 24. We’re giving away two tickets!
Rodriguez first gained attention in 2012 with her anonymous “Colorminutes,” which are one-minute long demos paired with solid colors. In 2013, the Honduran American musician released her first EP, a bilingual four-track record called Systems.
The Empress Of moniker is borrowed from the Empress tarot card, which represents fertility and sustenance. Her latest album, Us (2018), embodies the Empress card with its creative collaborative spirit. The album deals a lot with mental health and falling in and out of love.
