2/18/15 – Berklee Performance Center
On Wednesday night Berklee College of Music’s Heavy Rotation Records celebrated the release of Dorm Sessions 10 at the Berklee Performance Center. A full house witnessed a stacked lineup of Berklee bands, including three that won bids at major music festivals courtesy of Heavy Rotation Records: Kyle Thornton & The Company will be headed to Lollapalooza, Grey Season to South by Southwest, and Cordelia & The Buffalo won a slot at Osheaga.
Sound of Boston was there to sample the Berklee buffet of music.
I/O: Reverb-washed, double drummer, guitar euphoria.
Fever Charm: Mini beach ball-tossing, lei-wearing, tambourine dancer guy, luau rock party.
YEAH Dubz: Crouching talk box, hidden DJ. Sounds by way of PlayStation controller and tablet. Suspenders included.
Cordelia & the Buffalo: Ah-well-ah, herd, herd, herd. The herd is the word.
Oh, Malô: A landslide of chills; music for the dead of winter.
3 Sudacas: World jazz, outlook smooth and sunny; music for the sizzle of summer.
Grey Season: 90’s alt-rock, folky banjo mandolin mashup. Perfect for meadow lazing or stargazing.
Amy & The Engine: Amy revs the engine and coos, “Ooh la la, ooh!” Love me, love me, you sing, but I already do.
