It’s that time of year again! Boston Calling is seeing some big changes in 2017. For the first time since the festival’s inception, they are moving venues, from Boston’s City Hall Plaza, down the river to The Harvard Athletic Complex in Allston.
With the festival’s trademark sense of quirky humor, they have announced this year’s complete lineup, and boy, it is impressive.
Filling out the rest of the top slots are Bon Iver, The xx, Major Lazer, Weezer, The 1975, Sigur Rós, Solange, Cage the Elephant, Run the Jewels, Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats, Tegan & Sara, and many more. Thanks to the change of venue, they were able to significantly expand the lineup and put themselves in more direct competition with larger festivals in the Northeast, like Governor’s Ball in New York City. Luckily, the festival never forgets to include some strong local acts at the bottom of the lineup, this year featuring Buffalo Tom, Cousin Stizz, The Hotelier, Piebald, and Vundabar.
There will also be a “film experience” component to the festival, curated by Natalie Portman, the details of which have yet to be announced.
Early Bird Three-Day General Admission, VIP and Platinum VIP Passes are on sale TODAY, January 12, 2017 at 10:00am EST at www.bostoncalling.com. Earl
