Weekly Wrap-Up: 7/24/17

Welcome back to the Weekly Wrap-Up! Summer concerts and events are abound in Beantown in the upcoming weeks. Here at the Weekly Wrap-Up, we keep the news of local musical festivities from slipping away from you like the lazy days of summer. Stay cool and check out what’s going on!

ALT Rocks Boston Announces 2017 Headliners

Just in from Boston’s Alternative Radio ALT 92.9 is this year’s lineup for the ALT Rocks Boston 2017 summer concert series. The series kicks off with the Revivalists in Boston’s Copley Square Park on Thursday, August 17, followed by American Authors at Copley Square Park on August 31. The trifecta is topped off with New Politics at SoWa Open Market on Saturday, September 9. Stay tuned for ALT 92.9’s announcement for openers. You may be able to catch some homegrown Boston favorites! Oh, and did I mention that the summer series is free? So, yeah.

MFA Concerts in the Courtyard

One of Boston’s celebrated seasonal music venues is the cozy courtyard at the Museum of Fine Arts. This summer, tickets are going fast for Elaine and Jerome Rosenfeld Concerts in the Courtyard series. The Las Cafeteras show this Wednesday, July 26 is already sold out, but there are plenty more opportunities for courtyard hanging before the summer is over. Come hear the sweet, sultry voice of Boston’s Ruby Rose Fox on August 2 or swoon over Patty Larkin’s masterful guitar skills on August 16. 6th Annual Bridgin’ Gaps Festival

Summer is a great time to be in Boston, and it is also a good time to take some earned vacation time and see what lies in the great beyond. You might find yourself venturing out to Salem for the Bridgin Gaps Festival. This unique musical and arts event showcases the work of local artists as well as community organizations. The festival spans August 5-6 and includes a lineup of musicians, poets, dance groups, and educational opportunities for charitable non-profit organizations to share their missions and accomplishments.
