These past two weekends have been very exciting for local acts. Boston bands Karmin, Aer, and Timeflies performed alongside big names like J Lo and Calvin Harris last Saturday for the KISS-108 Concert. Boston-bred Tigerman Woah! and Magic Man were also well loved in this summer’s Boston Calling. With local acts like these playing for sold-out crowds and gaining more popularity, the Boston music scene this month was a force to be reckoned with.
No plans this summer? Starting Wednesday June 4, Boston Public Library’s gorgeous McKim Courtyard will be transformed into an outdoor music hall that’s free for locals. This “Concerts in the Courtyard” series will be held every Wednesday and Friday and feature acts of a variety of genres like folk, jazz, classical and pop–including our past local spotlight act The Western Den! Check out Boston Public Library’s website for a full list of the lineup.
If you’re going to be around Cambridge this summer then make sure to stop by Harvard Square on Saturday, June 21 to listen to some of your favorite local bands perform. Similar to “Concerts in the Courtyard”, “Make Music Harvard” is free admission and will have artists of all types of genres–so there will definitely be acts that fit your music taste. Our past Local Spotlight duo Miss Geo will be there as well so it’ll be a perfect time to sample some of their music! Find out what other bands will be performing here.
Missed out Boston Calling? Don’t worry we got you covered.
