With Valentines Day (or Single’s Awareness Day, as some affectionately call it) around the corner, The Rare Occasions are releasing a music video to their song “Halfheartedly.” The music video for the song, off the appropriately titled EP Feelers gives us a behind-the-scenes peek into the studio at “The Record Company,”, which looks quite different from Brian’s basement. According to the band, “Halfheartedly” is about not being afraid to dive into something one hundred percent.
The Rare Occasions formed after Brian McLaughlin (singer/keyboardist) and Luke ImBusch (drummer) moved from Providence to Boston, where they met Peter Stone (guitarist) and Jeremy Cohen (bassist). They’ve since recorded two EPs, played at SXSW and SMJ, and won the John Lennon Songwriting Contest for “Dysphoric,” another song on Feelers.
