Electro-indie artist Adrian Galvin—previously a member of Walk the Moon and Yellerkin—is coming to The Sinclair on Tuesday, October 3rd at 8 PM, performing under his newest moniker, Yoke Lore.
Galvin started a solo project because wanted complete artistic freedom and the ability to explore how things are connected. This concept of connectivity drove him to choose the Yoke Lore moniker: “A ‘yoke’ is something that holds things together. ‘Lore’ means a set of stories or a collection of ideas about an event, time, or culture. I want to tell stories about how things are bound and held together. I think something’s value is in its relationship to everything else. Work in the joints; where things come together,” according to Galvin’s bio.
Yoke Lore’s sound is mainstream pop beats combined with psychedelic and folk melodies. According to Consequence of Sound, “he’s tapping into the bright, neo-psychedelic of Animal Collective and the smart, deconstructed pop of Dirty Projectors.”
