Indie rock’s cult band Yo La Tengo play Paradise Rock Club on Tuesday, April 3rd at 7 PM. We’re giving away two tickets!
Yo La Tengo meshes various subgenres, from shoegaze to noise pop, to create a unique flavor of indie rock. They have a reputation for being a “critics’ band,” but have amassed a large following by consistently releasing solid indie hits for 25 years.
The Hoboken trio got their name come from a baseball anecdote: In 1968, New York Met center fielder Richie Ashburn learned how to say “I’ve got it!” in Spanish to avoid collision with Elio Chacón, who was Venezuelan. Instead, he collided with left fielder Frankie Thomas, who asked, “What the hell is a Yellow Tango?”
Fans of Sonic Youth and The Flaming Lips don’t want to miss this show! This giveaway closes Sunday, April 1st at 10 PM, so get your submission in soon.
