Rock band Sidewalk Driver and hip-hop duo STL GLD are coming to The Sinclair on Friday, July 21st at 9 PM. Dutch ReBelle and Carissa Johnson will open the show. Both bands are known for highly energized sets, so you don’t want to miss this show. We have two tickets to give to one lucky winner!
Sidewalk Driver could have easily time traveled from the 70s glam pop-rock scene. Larger-than-life frontman Tad McKitterick is often seen wearing tons of glitter and shiny platform boots. He recently offered advice on how to live glamorously in 2017 to Vanyaland, like “make up dankulous adjectives” and “glitter is the new black.” Their rock sound borrows from David Bowie, while their pop sound borrows from Lady Gaga. Sidewalk Driver’s music ranges from love ballads to power pop-rock jams.
You might have seen STL GOLD on the side of a T stop, posing for The Record Co. campaign “Boston Music Is.” The duo consists of emcee Moe Pope and producer The Arcitype. They have been nominated for Best Hip Hop Act at Boston Music Awards for the past two years.
Discrimination against minorities compels their musical career; therefore, they use their platform to comment on and protest against these injustices. Earlier this year, they released their highly political album Torch Song, which deals with racial discrimination in the United States from slavery to police brutality.
This giveaway closes Wednesday, July 19th at 10 PM, so get your submission in soon.
