It’s not often that a group is able to pull off the nuanced overlap of folk and R&B, yet Wisconsin-born band Phox does just that. Lead singer Monica Martin’s enchanting voice draws you in and skillful instrumentals from the remaining members keep you listening. It is Lumineers-esque folk with a unique bite. As Martin jokingly put it “If you like sugared cereal, you’ll like PHOX.”
Since their formation in 2011, Phox has garnered widespread attention landing gigs on NPR’s Tiny Desk, Coachella, Bonnaroo, and more. They will be returning to Brighton Music Hall on Friday, 1/27 for an inevitably unforgettable night. Lovers of Lucius or Wild Child will not want to miss it.
We’ve got two tickets up for grabs for one lucky winner! The giveaway closes Wednesday, January 25th at 10 PM so get your submission in now.
