Jaymes Young may not be in the foreground of the indie music scene yet, but his career gains momentum with each release and collaboration. You may have heard him open for Vance Joy or London Grammar and Fans of The Fault In Our Stars may have heard his duet “Best Shot” with singer-songwriter Birdy. You may have even caught him singing on David Guetta’s, “I’ll Keep Loving You.”
What defines Young’s music is the electronic alt-pop melodies that accompany his emotional honesty. In an interview with Billboard, Young explained the meaning behind his single, “Feel Something.”
“I wanted to reach out to listeners and share the sentiment that people want to experience emotions and no matter what those emotions are—the negative ones and the positive ones.” What lies beneath the lyrics is a misty electronica sound that PopCrush compares to the feeling of “gazing at hundreds of tiny water droplets as they race down your window during a drizzle.”
He plays at The Sinclair on Friday, July 28th at 8 PM accompanied by opener Matt Maeson. We have two tickets up for grabs! Fans of Lo-Fang and The Neighborhood don’t want to miss out. This giveaway closes Wednesday, July 26th at 10 PM, so get your submissions in soon!
