MCs Stepa J. Groggs, Ritchie With a T, and producer Parker Corey constantly challenge traditional hip hop with experimental beats as the trio, Injury Reserve. The three Phoenix natives assert themselves as an exciting and unapologetic force: Corey’s riotous glitches break the ordinary flow of their songs and Grogg and Ritchie’s lyrics call out attachments to materialism.
After releasing their self-titled debut album this past May, Injury Reserve established their sound as an eclectic, lively counter-play to hip hop. In this album, they pull inspiration from trance, criticize societal norms, and embody exhilaration in each song. With songs like “Jailbreak the Tesla,” Injury Reserve manifest the adrenaline of a high-speed car race and showcase their authenticity and creativity.
