It’s been nearly a year since Hawthorn, a Bostonian folk duo consisting of Taylor Holland and Heather Scott, played the release show for their new album Maggie Willow at Lizard Lounge.
Since then, the record has earned a well-deserved spot as one of our favorite albums of 2019. Maggie Willow winds Holland and Scott’s voices together into one harmonious entity, emphasizing the symbiotic maturity of their gorgeous melodies. Combined with their creative guitar picking and a homey banjo, Hawthorn form an assuaging aesthetic perfect for an intimate venue.
This Saturday, February 8th, Hawthorn are returning to Lizard Lounge and we’re giving away two tickets!
They’ll be joined by two fellow Bostonians: folk singer/songwriter Izzy Heltai, as well as special guest Kaiti Jones. Heltai’s 2019 EP Only Yesterday will compliment Hawthorn’s cozy folk with a more sullen beauty, emphasizing vulnerable and confessive stories from his upbringing in Western Massachusetts. With Kaiti Jones joining the bill to complete the local folk trifecta, the artists at Lizard Lounge are sure to entrance listeners with a relaxing, arrestingly melodious evening.
