Four-time Grammy-award winning singer Esperanza Spalding will be performing at the Shubert Theatre on Tuesday, April 12 and we are teaming up with the Citi Performing Arts Center to give away two tickets to the show!
Known as a talented jazz cellist and bassist, Spalding is also known for incorporating a wide variety of genres into her compositions. The Berklee College alum has been featured on NPR and in The New York Times and was name Best New Artist at the 53 Grammy Awards, beating out huge names like Drake, Justin Bieber, and Mumford and Sons.
At the show, Spalding will be presenting her newest project, titled Emily’s D+Evolution, which focuses on rekindling her childhood interest in theater, poetry and movement.
This project is about going back and reclaiming un-cultivated curiosity, and using it as a compass to move forward and expand. My hope for this group is to create a world around each song – there are a lot of juicy themes and stories in the music. We will be staging the songs as much as we play them, using characters, video, and the movement of our bodies.
Student tickets will also be available at a discounted price of $30.
The giveaway closes Saturday, April 9th at midnight so get your submission in now!
