Dan Bejar’s band Destroyer plays The Sinclair on Wednesday, January 24th at 9 PM. We have two tickets up for grabs!
Dan Bejar, commonly known as “Rock’s Exiled King,” makes experimental 70s-style art rock that compares to the likes of David Bowie and Lou Reed’s earlier albums. His lyrics are mysterious and evoke sensation, rather than focusing on the tangible. His most recent album ken (2017) sees Bejar embracing a more stoic, aphoristic approach in comparison to the expressiveness of Poison Season (2015) and Five Spanish Songs (2013). He told Spin that “there’s a casual extremism to the writing, and that feels like it’s coming from a young person, even though my voice sounds more decrepit and distant than ever.”
Fans of Ariel Pink and Wolf Parade don’t want to miss this show. This ticket giveaway closes Monday, January 22nd at 10 PM, so get your submission in soon!
