The deck of the ICA became a dance floor as Ripe pumped infectiously danceable songs and laughter into the air. As part of Berklee’s Summer Series, the local funk seven-piece performed an outdoor set at the edge of Boston’s harbor.
Unlike some of the other acts in the series, Ripe’s music is designed to lure audiences out of the ICA’s stadium seats; it’s hard to resist the groove. Lead singer Robbie bounced around the stage, the horns blasted out jazzy solos, and the drums propelled feet off the crowd.
