English artist Alex O’Connor, better known as Rex Orange County, stole Boston’s heart at House of Blues on his Pony tour, in support of his third album released last fall. A turf-covered stage adorned with decorative flowers and a backdrop of blue sky and fluffy clouds created a mood of youthful innocence, as a sold-out crowd swayed and sung along to Rex Orange County’s signature feel-good sound. Following a stripped-down set that included a cover of Alicia Keys’ “No One,” a mid-performance set change revealed a giant pony and rainbow confetti, as Rex Orange County finished off the night with fan favorites “Best Friend” and “Loving is Easy.”
