Bleachers played a sold-out performance at MGM Music Hall in Boston this week as part of their “From the Studio to Stage” tour that wraps up its US leg this week. The indie-rock band, led by front-man Jack Antonoff and hailing from New Jersey, released their self-title fourth album earlier this year. Bleachers performed songs from their five albums, including their breakout hit “Rollercoaster” which was released exactly 10 years before on June 10th in 2014. Antonoff told the audience about this anniversary and reflected on his history with performing in Boston. He spoke about Boston shows being a career milestone for him as a kid growing up in New Jersey. The band put on a passionate and heartfelt performance full of incredible saxophone solos, guitar riffs, and piano melodies from the six multi-talented performers on stage.
Opening the show was an enchanting performance from singer-songwriter Samia, playing songs from her two albums “The Baby” and “Honey”. She opened her set with “Pool”, the first track off her debut album, a heart-wrenching ballad about grappling with the fleeting nature of relationships and life. She also played an unreleased song, “Bovine Excision”, to the excitement of fans.
