Big Thief brought their Somersault Slide 360 tour to a sold out MGM Music Hall in Boston. Their set brought moving tracks from throughout their discography to life, with noteworthy inclusions of songs from their latest full length, Double Infinity. The band was joined on stage by Joshua Crumbly, who contributed bass parts to Double Infinity. Older favorites like “Masterpiece,” “Shark Smile,” and “Not” made appearances, as well as some of frontwoman Adrienne Lenker’s solo material like “not a lot, just forever.” The band debuted some new songs on stage as well and closed the night out with a three-song encore.
Big Thief’s touring partner Lomelda played an opening set, which helped set the tone for the night. The Texas-based project by singer-songwriter Hannah Read played full-band renditions of older Lomelda tracks as well as some to-be-released songs.
