Touring in celebration of Headlights, his latest full length release, Alex G played Roadrunner in Boston. He was joined by touring partner Nilüfer Yanya, who opened the show with a fantastic set. Overall, the night delivered on live renditions on Alex G’s newer material and choice cuts from different points throughout his extensive catalog.
This show was the second of two back-to-back Boston dates, kicking off the band’s tour. Alex G’s performance was split into two parts, one prepared for the tour featuring many songs from Headlights, as well as older favorites like “Gretel,” “Kicker,” and “Brick.” The second part began when the band took the stage again for an encore, honoring request after request and playing an additional eight songs.
