Weekly Wrap-Up: 6/10/14

The beginning of June was a time of exciting new releases from local bands: Boston’s very own indie rock band Rich People Food recently released their new EP, titled Native Tongue. It features a great mix of tracks, with songs like “Run Riot Run” that make you want to dance and other ones like “In Color” that are great for jamming out in your car. The songs are available for listening and downloading on Bandcamp. We highly recommend checking out the band. Indie folk band Tales of Olde also came out with a new self-titled EP last week. Tales of Olde includes five songs that showcase the lead singers’ harmonies, complemented by power guitar riffs and violin melodies. Sample some of their new music on Bandcamp and support the band with a download on iTunes. A few days ago, local funk rock band Bad Rabbits collaborated with Californian hip hop artist Vince Staples to produce a new track called “Made.” The song is a unique blend of hip hop, rock, rap, and funk. Last week, folk band The Novel Ideas released the track “Lost on the Road.” Definitely give a listen to lead singer Sarah Grella’s heartfelt voice. Rock group Lux Deluxe recently revealed their new music video, “What You Need.” Check out the video here:   Recent Posts: Concert Review: Kishi Bashi  Local Spotlight: Kal Marks  Selected Sounds: 5 Shows You Can’t Miss This June  Concert Review: Yan Tiersen
