Welcome back to the Weekly Wrap-Up! Here you’ll find the latest and greatest of Boston’s musical happenings, wrapped up and delivered weekly.

Boston Hassle Presents: All Ages Performance Space Fundraiser

During the month of April, Boston Hassle was busy fundraising for an all ages performance venue to serve the Greater Boston Area. Boston Hassle is a local nonprofit organization that supports local art, music and film through meetings, events, and publications. The organization is raising money for an all-ages space for artists in the community, similar to other spaces such as the Space Gallery in Portland, Maine. Whether you’re an artist (of any age) looking for space to perform amongst a community of local artists, or whether you are eager to support such an endeavor, visit Boston Hassle’s website for more details about the fundraiser. Stay tuned for fundraising outcomes and updates on the planned venue!

The Checkout Live at Berklee: Louis Cole vs. Domi

For the sixth annual Checkout-Live event at Berklee College of Music, Louis Cole of KNOWER and Domi Degalle are coming together for what has been described as a “searing hot” jazz music experience. The event is a collaboration between the famed New York-area radio station WBGO Jazz 88.3 FM/WBGO.org, NPR Music, and Berklee in an effort to bring New York-based Berklee alumni back to their alma mater. The Checkout is an acclaimed multimedia show that gives the latest scoop on the jazz scene, and it will be broadcasting the event. The show is this Thursday, May 4th at the Red Room at Cafe 939. If you can’t make it to the event, selected shows will be archived at Checkoutjazz.org, and you can check out some of last year’s jazz here!
