Melbourne-born indie singer Fatai is coming to Red Room at Cafe 939 on Wednesday, September 6th at 8 PM. We have two tickets up for grabs!
Fatai entered the scene after winning the first season of “The Voice” at age 17 with an evocative rendition of “Ave Maria.” She was subsequently signed to Mercury Records, a division of Universal Music Australia, but later she decided to pursue an independent music career.
She first began singing professionally at the age of seven with her mom and dad, who was a director of a church choir. Her voice has since developed a deep and soulful timbre that is reminiscent of neo-soul.
