Paul Van Dyk at Royale – Selected by TK

Grammy Award-winning German DJ Paul Van Dyk, who has shredded dance floors from Ibiza to Miami, is taking the stage at Royale for a show you don’t want to miss. There’s a reason he was named the world’s No. 1 DJ for two back-to-back years in 2005 and 2006. He’s THAT good.

Andrew Jackson Jihad at Royale – Selected by Anastasia

Andrew Jackson Jihad’s sound is… well, it’s straight up weird. They combine all kinds of instruments—trombone, xylophone, etc—to supplement the rather forceful lyrics. Their show will be a ride.

The Color and Sound at O’Brien’s – Selected by Billy

In an indie rock scene filled with its fair share of vanilla, The Color and Sound is kind of like the funfetti icing on top. They’re catchy; they’re anthemic; they can make you dance like you’re in a Wham! music video, and they can just as easily rip your heart out and use it as one of those tiny punching bag things. Also on the bill for next Monday’s show is Philly-based W.C. Lindsay, a guaranteed sock-knocker-offer. Don’t miss out.

Mick Jenkins & Kirk Knight at The Middle East Downstairs – Selected by Jon

Chicago’s latest rap export Mick Jenkins teams up with New York newcomer Kirk Knight in what will surely be a high-octane demonstration of lyricism. The Middle East crowd is in for a fury of head-nodding beats and potent rhymes.

Abadabad with St. Nothing at The Middle East Upstairs – Selected by Becca

We just can’t get enough of these all-local lineups in Boston. This show is going to be an eclectic mix of electronic and alternative rock, but all with a chilled-out vibe. This full dosage of Boston bands are the best way to gear up for spring. Skinny Bones and The Symptoms will open the night.

Belle and Sebastian at House of Blues Boston – Selected by Knar

Belle and Sebastian will be presenting the powerful pop punch that is their latest album. Tinged with their twee touch, this new synth-filled sound will turn the venue into a multi-level dance party. Hopefully, Lord Anthony, Judy and Sukie will also be joining in on the fun—that is to say, let’s hope they also include a throwback or five.
