Santigold at House of Blues Boston – Selected by Knar

Santigold’s latest release was a genre buffet, with everything from R&B to synth-pop to alt-rock. The album art reads “99¢,” a bright yellow sticker slapped on a package of shrink-wrapped goods – an assortment of trinkets as varied as the music the album contains. But the album is anything but a collection of cheap toys. Expect to embark on an electropop parade, delivered with an in-your-face punk-ish attitude similar to that of fellow artist M.I.A.

Fresh off a month-long tour opening for Ben Harper, rising folk star Christopher Paul Stelling is heading straight back out on tour for a slew of headlining gigs. The fingerpicking phenomenon is touring in support of his latest album Labor Against Waste, which is a mesmerizing listen of rich lyrics and distinctive acoustic guitar work from start to finish.
