Preview: Air Traffic Controller at Great Scott

For songs that feel just right for the end of summer, make sure to catch local band Air Traffic Controller at Great Scott in Allston tonight. Air Traffic Controller is known for their brand of happy indie rock paired with poppy vibes — think Matt & Kim but with more diversified instrumentation — and their newest single “The House” succeeds in delivering this signature sound.

Listing The Beatles, Tom Petty, and Bright Eyes as just a few of their influences, Air Traffic Controller’s music is refreshingly modern while simultaneously hinting at classic rock nostalgia. With two albums under their belt already, a third on its way, and an appearance at SXSW, the band is expected to play like seasoned pros.

See Air Traffic Controller live tonight (Tuesday, August 26) playing with The Tragic Thrills and fellow Boston band Lux Deluxe. The show is 18+, doors open at 9 PM, tickets are $10.
