Boston Venues: Brighton Music Hall

When looking at the music scene in a large city like Boston, one of the best ways to examine it is through the city’s music venues. Without a great variety of venues small and large, a city’s musical life does not have room to grow.

Boston, however, has some of the finest venues in the country. Over the next few months, we will be taking you through nearly all the places to see music in the Boston area in the search for the best venue in the city.

Our first stop: Brighton Music Hall

Located in the heart of the Brighton/Allston neighborhood, this 476-capacity spot is one of the easiest places in the city to catch great up-and-coming rock and indie acts in an intimate setting.

Because it is part of Crossroads Presents, a promotion company that runs multiple venues around town, they are able to book consistently exciting shows all year round, not an easy feat for a club of its modest size.

I’ve had the pleasure of seeing such diverse acts such as Macklemore, Baths, The Lone Bellow, and The Milk Carton Kids all at the BMH.

With a lengthy bar on each side and merch in the back, there is also no bad place to stand, allowing every audience member a great view of the next acts to make it big.
